Robert Miles discovered his passion for painting in 1978, drawn to the vibrant interplay of color and the quiet beauty of rural life. His early works—bold, expressive depictions of barns and nature scenes—reflect both his love of the outdoors and his instinct for rich, intense color.

For many years, Robert traveled alongside his wife, Joan, as she showcased her pressed‑flower creations at craft shows across the eastern United States. Later, he devoted himself to serving as the maintenance man for a local church, a role that grounded him in community and craftsmanship.

Now enjoying retirement, Robert has returned to his artistic roots with renewed energy. From his studio on their property in Stanly County, he creates modern works that blend his lifelong love of acrylic paint and ink with his contemporary vision. He hopes his art brings viewers the same sense of joy and curiosity he feels each time he picks up a brush or pen.
