SUMMARY:The 18th Annual Ellen Cook Gaskin Nature At Its Best Art Exhibition & Competition
DESCRIPTION:The family of Ellen Cook Gaskin has graciously sponsored this competition and show in their mother’s honor. Mrs. Gaskin was a talented artist and had a deep love of nature and all of its wonder and beauty. Entries in this competition should have a nature theme using one of the following as guidelines: fish\, fur\, feather\, field\, forest\, or flower. Both 2-D and 3-D art are welcomed as entries. Awarded prizes are 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, and up to 4 honorable mentions. In addition\, Stanly Arts Guild members vote on their favorite entry and a “Members’ Choice” is awarded with a ribbon and cash prize. All entries must be no more than 2 years old.

SUMMARY:In Person Workshop for Region 12 Artist Support Grant
DESCRIPTION:The Artist Support Grant (ASG) was created by the North Carolina Arts Council to provide direct support to individual artists during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible artists must reside in Region 12\, which include the counties of Anson\, Montgomery\, Moore\, Richmond\, Stanly or Union. All Region 12 artists must apply through the Arts Council of Moore County.  CLICK HERE to learn more.\nGRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE:\n5:00 PM on Friday\, October 9\, 2026 \nACMC is offering two grant workshops to help interested artists in strengthening their applications. Attendance is not required but strongly encouraged\, especially for first time applicants. All grant workshops are open to any artist in North Carolina\, no matter your county of residence. \n\n\nThe ASG workshops presented by ACMC will take place on the following dates: \n1. VIRTUAL via ZOOM – August 25\, 2026 – 5:30 PM\n \n2. IN PERSON – September 15\, 2026 – 5:30 PM at Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House (482 E.
