DESCRIPTION:Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women in the United States\, and the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in women. In short\, it will touch someone you know until there is a cure.Each October\, The Stanly Arts Guild donates items for silent auction to raise funds to support local free mammograms. Past silent auctions have been artistically decorated themes such as bras or caps. The theme for 2025 was “Pink”!\n\nAll proceeds will go to Stanly Health Foundation for their Free Mammogram Program.\n\nBid For The Cure! Information

SUMMARY:Region 12 Artist Support Grant Deadline
DESCRIPTION:The Artist Support Grant (ASG) was created by the North Carolina Arts Council to provide direct support to individual artists during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible artists must reside in Region 12\, which include the counties of Anson\, Montgomery\, Moore\, Richmond\, Stanly or Union. All Region 12 artists must apply through the Arts Council of Moore County.  CLICK HERE to learn more.\nGRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE:\n5:00 PM on Friday\, October 9\, 2026 \nACMC is offering two grant workshops to help interested artists in strengthening their applications. Attendance is not required but strongly encouraged\, especially for first time applicants. All grant workshops are open to any artist in North Carolina\, no matter your county of residence. \n\n\nThe ASG workshops presented by ACMC will take place on the following dates: \n1. VIRTUAL via ZOOM – August 25\, 2026 – 5:30 PM\n \n2. IN PERSON – September 15\, 2026 – 5:30 PM at Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House (482 E. Connecticut Ave.\, Southern Pines\, NC) \nYou must register to attend by contacting Chris Dunn (910-692-2787 or chris@mooreart.org).
