DESCRIPTION:Albemarle Parks and Recreation Presents:   Uwharrie Senior Games & Silver Arts \nSenior Games: March 31-April 30 \nThe Uwharrie Senior Games & Silver Arts provides a little bit of something for everyone! It includes friendly and fun competition in various games/sports along with the opportunity to display abilities and skills in various forms of art for seniors ages 50 and over in Stanly and Montgomery Counties. Registration runs February 2-March 27. DESCRIPTION:The Patricia Blake Hartley Scholarship\n\n\n\n\nThe Patricia Blake Hartley Scholarship was established as a memorial to one of our long-time members & supporters of the Guild. It is awarded annually to a college student from Stanly County\, (preferably a Junior or Senior)\, who is currently enrolled as a visual arts or arts education major. A check for $1\,000\, to be applied toward tuition costs\, will be paid directly to the college in attendance by the scholarship winner. \n\n\n\n\nApplications for this scholarship are available at the Guild store during regular business hours or through the link on our website: https://stanlyartsguild.com/scholarship-opportunies/ \nThe 2026 scholarship submission deadline is May 9th\, 2026.

Mrs. Gaskin was a talented artist and had a deep love of nature and all of its wonder and beauty. Entries in this competition should have a nature theme using one of the following as guidelines: fish\, fur\, feather\, field\, forest\, or flower. Both 2-D and 3-D art are welcomed as entries. Awarded prizes are 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd\, and up to 4 honorable mentions. In addition\, Stanly Arts Guild members vote on their favorite entry and a “Members’ Choice” is awarded with a ribbon and cash prize. All entries must be no more than 2 years old.

SUMMARY:Make A Bid For The Cure!
DESCRIPTION:Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women in the United States\, and the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in women. In short\, it will touch someone you know until there is a cure.Each October\, The Stanly Arts Guild donates items for silent auction to raise funds to support local free mammograms. Past silent auctions have been artistically decorated themes such as bras or caps. The theme for 2025 was “Pink”!\n\nAll proceeds will go to Stanly Health Foundation for their Free Mammogram Program.
