Weave a Pine Needle Basket with Shakeeka Watts

In this workshop you will learn the basic steps to making a coiled pine needle basket plate.  You will start your basket with a wrapped coil for the base.  The instructor will guide you as you use a basic single stitch method to bind the pine needle coils together.  You will be introduced to a variety of threads such as: Waxed Linen, Sinew, Crochet, and Raffia.  Once completed, you will have your own pine needle basket plate and needle.  No previous weaving experience is necessary, just an enthusiasm to learn.  All materials will be provided.  Bring a snack or lunch.  $10 of your fee goes to the Stanly Arts Guild Education Fund.
