Susan Teaching
To appreciate her paintings is to understand her process. She typically starts with a concept in mind and a color combination that ignites something in her. Then, she paints until she feels an emotional response. She names the painting based on that response and develops the painting around that feeling.
Her style is abstraction and expressionism. She uses acrylic and mixed media on various surfaces. What sets her style apart from others is that she strives to suggest. She doesn’t tell the whole story. She leaves it incomplete, so you can connect with her paintings on a level that is meaningful to you. She’s inspired by the personal stories that people attach to her paintings. These stories will change over time for you depending on what’s happening in your life. Her paintings will continue to entertain you.
